Midas Minibus Training

About the MiDAS Minibus Training Course

MiDAS was launched in 1994 and is designed to make appropriate assessment, training and accreditation available to minibus drivers from schools, colleges, universities, health authorities, local authorities and volunteer organisations at a local level.

The objectives of MiDAS are that minibus drivers will:
Be assessed to ensure their driving skills are of an acceptable standard
Be given help where necessary to improve their minibus driving skills
Be aware of the legal, practical and safety issues surrounding minibus driving
Be trained in the safe use of accessible minibuses where necessary
Receive a certificate which is accepted by other MIDAS members

What Is MiDAS?
MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, organised by the Community Transport Association U.K. (CTA) which promotes
a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers. It is a membership based scheme that has
been designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses.

Who Is It Aimed At?
MiDAS is applicable to any organisation operating or using minibuses. Member organisations range from small voluntary
organisations operating one vehicle, to local authorities operating large fleets of minibuses as well as schools, colleges and
universities.

What Is Involved In The Course?
The course is run over a single day. There is a mixture of classroom, theory and practical driving assessment throughout the day.
